Freedom Writers
I'm out to raise freedom writers
With speeches vibrant with science, seen as survivors of violence
Elohim dialed in defying those demons rioting with tyrants
Yeah, my passion's underrated, I'm David fighting Goliath
I triumph against all odds with God's favor, bride of his highness
My guidance & yes, my comfort rate to contemplate & concentrate
On criticizing reasons why Eric Garner would suffocate
Fighting racial tensions 'causing Ferguson scenarios
That turn their back on justice like the cops did DeBlasio
On behalf of those trans genders treated like gang members
And that measured with faith I have treasured
I paint "legendary pictures" with a genius in tune
To use "the voice" with more "spice" than a scene out of Dune
Directed by Denis Villeneuve, 'cause we rarely see the proof
Of justice for the black boy some cop didn't mean to shoot
Out of fear that they're weapon strapped, the pot calling the kettle black
While "running with the devil" like that classic heavy metal track
That's a higher learning more than Eshon & Uncle Reece
Propaganda felt like Braille via this Humble Beast
Christian hip-hop metaphors so the saints run with me
While focusing on up and comers like the Summer league
With lyrics challenging my walk in life
In accepting Christ who died for me despite my flesh that said that I oughta die
If you knew my past you would be mortified
That's why Christ is not only my Savior but my Lord on High
That's why we need the gospel where the demons lie
In "Criminal Minds" you couldn't profile in a CSI
Or "Red" could never ever put on his "Blacklist", I'm vanquished
In God's image, I vanish. I'm his catfish
Freedom when I write, yeah
To break the chains of all the demons in your life, yeah
So that you recognize the reason for the Christ, yeah
And his relationship that you need to survive
He's the reason you're alive
Fight for freedom when I write, yeah
To break the chains of all the demons in your life, yeah
So that you recognize the reason for the Christ, yeah
And his relationship that you need to survive
He's the reason
I'm in public schools being a light, giving kids freedom to write
About those demons that lie within in them, their eaten alive
And mistreated, it's why my after school season's a vibe
It's more than reason to rhyme, its pre-teens believing their bi
Having their feelings denied before there's a reasoning why
These feelings speak to their lives, guarded believing in Christ
While I'm dealing with life. Overcoming a marriage
That's on the rocks, while my people's being shot 'cause their freedom's denied
With that 14 word manifestos for the youth to market
That if you're black, you're the target in a supermarket
By the minds that's been renewed by the white supremacist
Instead of Romans 12:2 as Christ intended, they deny the premise
And call our kind the menace, use black on black crime as trite defenses
When that's personal beef, I pray against that and your thoughts of murdering me
Out of fear of being replaced, your perversion is deep
'Cause this land you never owned, you gained this world to lose your soul
Your love for country's evil un-refutable
you know the 'drill', they'll blame music for all black and brown murder
So I rap to crowds turned up with that cap and gown fervor
When I write, yeah
To break the chains of all the demons in your life, yeah
So that you recognize the reason for the Christ, yeah
And his relationship that you need to survive
He's the reason you're alive
I fight for freedom when I write, yeah
