Once upon a time when I was three
There was a little girl sailing ocean seas
When I turned four, she tapped the ocean floor
Aren't stories better when they stop at a door
But when that door won't open and it becomes dark
That four year old girl put her trust in a shark
He swallowed her up and she no longer played
Cause reality turned into her stage

I try to wake up before the sun rises
And when it does I make four disguises
One states real, another to appeal, a third that shies away

Been down on the road to hell
The ignited engine makes smoke that kills
I've gotten past the tired, I've gotten past the numb
I've gotten past expired
And all's left is my own drum
Tried to find the road to Jericho
But I couldn't even look past desert snow
Came across an eagle and he said to me
