Thalassophobia

Forlorn we were born
On earthen soil, on solid ground
Constrained and chained
By the end of land

All the ancient tales they resonate within my head
Of the abhorrent creations beneath the murk
Is it I who has to choose as I stand in terror
Is it myth or is it sooth?

Gazing into the unknown, tenebrous depths
I am nothing but a feeble little creature

Stained, weak. A petty unsung creation
Faint, bleak. A mortal soul
Space, time. Just forms of intuition
Gaze down. Thalassophobia

Some say that sky's the limit
For all I know it is the sea
Exceeding our boundaries
Provokes the Odd Ones' legacy
It's heresy!

Gazing into the unknown, tenebrous depths
I am nothing but a feeble little creature

Stained, weak. A petty unsung creation
Faint, bleak. A mortal soul
Space, time. Just forms of intuition
Gaze down. Thalassophobia

End of land, end of mind
Limits all of humankind
Is it fear? Is it fate?
Thalassophobia, enslaving trait

Facing trembling the unknown, tenebrous depths
Am I nothing but an insolent creation?

Earthenbound creation seeking for salvation
Breaking out of what we see. Craving our destiny
