A cheap room by the station

Rented a cheap room by the station
Now I have been here for six days
And on the bedside table
Lays the attraction list you wrote

I took the walk up to the meadows
And St. Mary's in the fields
Since then, I've kept me in the area
To be truth, it's not depending on the rain

Down at the public library
There was that decorated man
Reading the papers from the Falklands
And I was there, there just killing time

The other day I bought some postcards
And today I dropped them in a bin
Hardly, no one selling stamps now
Although I'd written three of them
