Summer Solstice

Pretty as a picture covered in November snow
Evergreen branch by a dancing chimney smoke
It will be like this for a little while 'till the sun comes back up around
Like a pine in the ice, you only hold me when it's cold

Somehow I never noticed
Until the daisy's blue
And I'm left out in the roses
It happens every June
I'm still right where you left me
Like white on an evergreen
And you and I wеre beautiful but hopelеss
We were never meant to last past summer solstice

Scattering petals, loves me, no he don't
Worn-out shoes can't follow you where you go
But it feels so good for a little while
When I find me in your arms
You tell me you'll stay
However, I know you won't

Somehow I never noticed
Until the daisy's blue
And I'm left out in the roses
It happens every June
I'm still right where you left me
Like white on an evergreen
And you and I were beautiful but hopeless
We were never meant to last past summer solstice

You show up, dress me in white
Then bounce away and say goodbye

Somehow I never noticed
Until the daisy's blue
And I'm left out in the roses
It happens every June
I'm still right where you left me (you left me)
Like white on an evergreen
And you and I were beautiful but hopeless (but hopeless)
We were never meant to last past summer solstice
