Scared of my pillow

I've been struggling with sleep for a while now and it's scary
I'm scared of my bedroom
I'm scared of my pillow
I'm scared of sunsets
But what scares me the most is that
I might not be able to go back to when I was not scared

I look inside for some light
As the sun goes down
I haven't slept for nights
I don't know how to let go

They say it gets better in time
But the more it goes
The more I fear next night

I try to wake my dog up for a midnight run
But even her don't want to be awake at this time
So I get out to try to tire myself out
I feel my body falling apart
But as soon as I get in bed adrenaline's awaking
And I'm stuck in my head, waiting for pills to kick in

I look inside for some light

Every time I've got in my room for the past year
I said to myself, "This is your safe place, Phil"'
Even though I didn't believe a single word that I said
I have to fake it 'til I'm in peace with this bed
I also started figuring my fears and my breath
I'd blow them all away through my open door
To close it right away so they can't come back anymore
Freeing myself every day a little more

I look inside for some light

I have slept last couple nights
I'm starting to let go

They say it gets better in time
And the more it goes
The less I fear next night
