Virgo Moon

I see the moon through my window
Middle of the night
In the middle of July
And I wish for
A couple shooting stars

Picking myself off the mattress
Twenty-seven years of bad habits
I shake them off
Pray for the sun

There's a small town in my mind
Search and rescue can't find
A reason for me to be this way
I'm a special kind of daydream
Cause nothings ever as it seems
The voices in my head don't go away

What's it like to not have self awareness
Be blissfully unaware of damage
One can cause
Highlighting all my flaws

These days it's so hard to come by
A quiet peace of my mind
Everything's loud
Don't want to come down
