Sink Rice

So, I'm with my lady for a dinner date
And we're at her place; and her cooking's great
We got a casserole on the menu tonight
The meal's gonna be such a delight
The food is ready; so I help myself
And I grab a plate from the kitchen shelf
There's meat in the pot so I grab a plateful
Then I think I'm done and I sit at the table
But I see my plate is missing some spice
I didn't know that there was rice

What is sink rice? I hear you say
Well, I didn't know until that day
It's rice that's cooked in the usual way
But then my lady, she moved the rice away
My lady, she put the rice in the strainer
Left in the sink to serve up later
And when I filled my plate from the pot
I thought I'd filled my plate with the lot
But it wasn't till I sat down to eat
I saw my plate no rice, all meat

So, I sit at the table and I look at my lady
I say, you got rice, what about me?
She says, it's in the sink, didn't you see it?
I say, no, who thinks to look in the sink?
But now I know, it's something she does
I don't know why, I guess, just because
I thought it was weird but now I must admit
I think it's cool and it's totes legit
This food has now become my vice
This food that's called ... sink rice
