Garden

The sun rose up
I was feeling ambitious
He saw my excitement
He was getting suspicious
"Don't worry honey, it's nothing malicious"
He's seen this before
Craving something delicious
Said "I want a garden with lilies and violets.
It's the perfect time and the perfect climate"
I spent all my money to do what I wanted
I'll do it right and complete what I started

Oh, here I go again
Can I do what's right this time
I promise, give me a chance

My flowers bloomed
Their colors and perfume
Obsession arose, I was visually consumed
He said "Honey, come inside it's getting dark out"
Told him "Not now or the seeds, they won't sprout"
Didn't think of much else except for my roses
I must care for them 'fore the storm approaches

Oh, here I go again
Can I do what's right in your eyes?
I promise, give me a chance
Oh, here I go again
Can I do what's right this time?
I promise, give me a chance

The rain came in, water had no mercy
Dear Lord, my flowers
He said "Honey, don't worry"
He doesn't know what my flowers would tell me
Relied on my care, you can't see what I see

The wind came in, it was a vicious hurricane
I heard their cries and I heard all their pain
Nobody believes that my flowers loved me
Morning came in, saw their petals hanging

What have I done!?
They got the best of me
I'll do it all again!
Just you wait and see
My garden, it got the best of me
Here I go again, here I go again
What have I done!?
They got the best of me
I'll do it all again!
Just you wait and see
My garden, it got the best of me
Here I go again, here I go again
