Gilgo

There used to be a sinkhole
Right where we're standing
I don't recall when it was that it was filled
My friends and I would throw in rocks
And crumbled up seashells
Before getting on the boat

There we'd go
Shooting across the whitecaps to our second home
My brother yells, "Hold on"
As we face the wakes and the waves

Did you know to show respect out on the Great South Bay
You wave at everyone you see
As we head down West Fox Creek
Make sure to give a smile
To the boats that pass us on their way back home

There we'd go
Shooting across the whitecaps to our second home
My brother yells, "Hold on"
As we face the wakes and the waves

Soon we'll get to Gilgo
And I'll jump out with the line
Make sure you're sitting down when we dock
Smell the ocean air
And feel that soft sand
We're at home for the next few hours
We're at home on the water and the docks

We're at home
We're at home
We're at home
