Living the (Day)Dream

I sat down
To get some rest and to calm down a bit
But then my thoughts started to come adrift
And wandered the world

They took paths
That I had to walk later this day
Although I was sitting here they were on the way
Making me feel urged

And then the moment was gone
I got up and it felt odd
And seemed like I've never sat

So I took a walk
To get somewhere that I had to be
Or to reach someone that I had to meet
Wandering the world

My head
Hurried ahead already looking 'round
And speculated what there will be found
Pushing me down the road

And then the moment was gone
I arrived but it felt odd
Cause it seemed like I've never walked

Oh my mind runs off the present
Is fleeing from the here and now
Jumping between memories, hypotheses and day dreaming

So I came in
Right on time at the right place
And yet I was longing for quiet space
Outside the world

But then the moment was gone
While I was on my way back home
And It seemed like I've never left
