Songbird's Story

The Songbird sings her sorrow tune
From locked in the cage, her muse, the moon
Finally numb to all her restraints

She knows someday that a prince will come
If he finds the courage, he'll start to run
Looking to be lit by her flame
Knowing that she's numb to the pain

He says, I'll stumble my way through the dark
To find the rhythm that's in your heart
'Cause every dream I've ever held
Was born to be free, then it's glory fell
And I, return to sea

I hold no stones for the wishing well
So, I'll shake my heart to cast a spell
Trying to think into her mind

But she can't promise freedom, no, not yet
Saying, good things are coming, they're around the bend
Everything is worth the time
Just try and stay between the lines

While you, stumble your way through the dark
To find the rhythm that's in your heart
'Cause every dream you've ever held
Was born to be free, then it's glory fell
And I, beg to be freed

Well, I found my way into your heart
And it might not be much, but it's a start
You're every face I see on the street
And I'm starting to think that
Maybe it's meant to be

Oh, rescue me
From the Silent Sea
Gotta buy release
When the tension was free
So, won't you please
Rescue me
