You laid your head on my chest
Handed me your hair tie and then said

So I took it
And I promised
To protect it
And then, of course, I lost it
My friends say it's almost poetic
How something so simple
Foreshadowed our ending

Maybe there's a reason for this moment
Maybe it's alright that I am broken
I wish that I could speed up how I'm healing and
