Kellie Dreams In Still-Life

Kellie walks down the stairs
She picks up the paper and sees
All the boys gone to war
She thinks of all the futures they'll never see
And Kellie sits by the phone
But no one's calling today
Sometimes she feels so alone
She thinks there's nothing left to do but run away

She falls on her knees and screams
Why?

Kellie tries to lose herself in books and in tapes
Kellie sees all their faces
The ones that bought her love
So she could never escape

She says, At least I seem to be alive
When their hearts break, I know I'm still alive, she says

Kellie dreams in still-life that nobody can see
And Kellie dreams in the daylight
It's just like ashes to me

For years, she's been long gone from me

Kellie walks down the stairs
She picks up the paper and sees
