The Jailer's Daughter

As I place myself in the earth
The remnants of my being that persist
The alarms resound
The very sirens that echoed within me when I suffered this love
To lead me deeper into this solemn grave
I yielded to let it consume me
With it's beast-creature appetite
Submerging the virtue of others carelessly alongside mine own
Though with willing hearts
They did imbibe the sea into their very lungs
I cannot banish the desperate pleas I expelled
Praying for salvation from mine own hands
I swallowed the key and grew perplexed when thou didst not possess it
Oh but how shall I e'er behold the sun anew
Whilst night's shackles tightly bind me
