These Eyes, Pt. 2

These eyes
These eyes have seen suffering
Now they see many wonders, yeah
Nothing will ever change what we see

Longevity got me on roads I'll never forget
No need for pity, I found a tone, deserve what I get
I never forget, my choices never made for the worst
They're made for the rest, I raise myself up, made me the best
And all the oppressed that face injustice makes me feel pressed
But they will express what they gon' feel
The damage is already done, and they will always heal
Hope's growing now from the sun, and this feels all too real
Heavenly feelings surreal

I looked at my reflection, I'm bound to reach perfection
But that's a misconception, I'm in the wrong direction
'Cause I needed correction, resurrection is my son
Projecting my own complexion, connecting others perceptions
It's a matter of understanding, a matter of withstanding
The past is the past, I'm steady moving on now
I'm handing lessons they need to know, a way to make them go
A way for me to show that everyone has grown

My eyes now blurry, the dark had got me worried
But really I'm feeling cheery, my heart ain't cold
These things are told kept me outta trouble
The things I've seen, the joys I've heard, the speech not slurred
These eyes have no more suffering, I'm gonna go home
I know my moms and my pops are waiting for me there
Should I share what I keep inside?
I have seen the seeds arise, all the tries and the cries to God
I had to put up with staying up 'til dawn

My visions shining on me now
'Cause effect the 'cause of the new prospects
I got a respect from the peers, so they'll go and lengthen my years
No tears, no fears, you gotta hold close to what matters most
My eyes are open now, hoping I will end up in a new place
Replaced all the crazy disgrace amongst my race
This reality is striking me
