Good Morning Sunshine

Every morning
Check the window to see
If leaves have fallen

To know the season
And if it could be
An early warning

There's glass out by the back door

Let's take a trip out
In to the countryside
I'll bring a football

I'll count the clichés
As the world goes by
I'll bring some bottles

Feeling bitter
But not like that
I've been fitter
But never better

The sun is warming
Up the lock-keeper's hands
He can smell the water

And he's compelled to
Draw a line in the sand
He calls his daughter

He's not perfect
But he's different
Opens the curtains
In his kitchen

I'm taking pictures
Of the sounds of the sea
The water is glistening

I pick the leaves up
But them back into the trees
I hope you're listening
