Amundsen

The Norwegian Roald Amundsen
Has established a camp at the bay of Wales
It is his belief the dogs can survive in the Antarctic
No matter how high the winds or survivor the weather

Amundsen takes ninety-seven dogs in all of his journey to the pole
He planes to gradually kill the weaker ones
And feed them not only to the remaining dogs but to the man themselves
When during the trip twenty-four of the animals must be slaughtered
The Norwegians names the place the Butcher Shop
So exacting, Amundsen makes every decision carefully purposefully
If a dog falls in a craves, he says, the dog is quickly out

So, the Norwegian and his party press forward southward
Nine hundred miles to place where time and space converge
