Maps of London Life

Maps of London life and the city's son
See things that aren't there
The word's been used before, tell me, are you sure?
We share that question, who and where
I'll probably be up later now, than any right upper half of town
Catching up on the brighter names, looking for the magic shades
Writing down the ones that stay in my head
I'll open up my ears and see, hope they take that courtesy
To look for me this time instead

My house is on the rise
I'm wiring a network no one sees
Not even me
I'm leaving the obscurity, trailing in necessity
But bailing the first time that I'm seen
And I know I'll be up later now, than any right mind in the whole town
Looking for a better name, floating through brighter days
Knowing it's all thoughts here in my head
One day I'll take the courtesy, more than just implicitly
'Cause it's them, not me, instead
Here in the obscurity, less than our duality
'Cause it won't be us here when it's said
No it won't be us, when it's said
