The Straw Man

Rose-colored skies, I set my mind on
Because I don't know where I belong
And it's easier to breathe
When my mind can believe
That the only thing that matters is the sky

But that's a lie that I tell myself waiting for the sunset
But I'm so tired of living in fear of what's
Dark and alone feeling like I'm on my own
But I'll drop by when I feel fine, push those tears aside
Glassy-eyed goodbye waving as the sun
Goes down leaving town

Why do I stay awake until dawn
I can't sleep until the stars are gone
And it's easier to breathe
When the light can be seen
Since the only thing that matters is the sky

But that's a lie that I tell myself waiting for the sunset
But I'm so tired of living in fear of what's
Dark and alone feeling like I'm on my own
But I'll drop by when I feel fine, push those tears aside
Glassy-eyed goodbye waving as the sun
Goes down leaving town

I set up the straw man
Reining over my tower of lies
It's the only way to through the night

Why, sky, dawn
Sleep, stars, gone
Easier, breathe
My mind is seen
Only sky and a Straw Man
