Cast-Iron Clay

How can you tell me
I have less of a right to life
How can you waste my time
And condemn me young

Subtract my existence, suffering

As I feel your life end
You still remind me of my
All my fallacies cannot wait 'til you're gone
Are you really so far
So far removed from me
Can't even say my name
Stutter in the self induced
Rage filled, futile emptiness

As I battle the howl of illness and swill
The call of relief just thrills the kill
The grey omnipotence witnesses
My vision wake from sleep
Artist's wish for silence beckon me

Guilt and comparisons fill my head
Pressure pours from eye, abandon need
Just bathe again child, lather and rinse
Peel the layer, cleanse my flesh
Clichéd lines sum it up
Another reminder that I'm not worth a fuck
I impersonate success with fingernail razor
Seeking rapture from within

The standard, a mystery, leaves me with nothing
Comfort me briefly, return again to lies
Reverence aside, it's my creation my surprise
Catharsis missing, as I attempt to die

All I once loved, deserted me now free
Another obligation, another mouth to feed
The empathy has faded, all contact nil
Blame my age as the battle falls still
Mouth open wide with expression made of clay
I fill that void with foot, no matter what I need

Forget my name
But I will remember all the horror
That I once saw in your eyes
But never fear
Cuz in the end intransigence
Fails like cast iron clay
Who am I
Oh but through the sea I envision you
Consumed by the darkness inside
Of your mind
And I hope you die at peace
Surrounded by love in your sleep
