Cotton fields and candy
There's nothing like the pair
I was talking to some children
They think there's real magic out there
When do we lose our ability to laugh?
And come to a knowing, that there's medicine in that

The monsters and their tales
The wolf in a red hood
Reminds me of a promise
I would have made if I could
Telling me that monsters
Really are the fairy tale you see
And to wish upon a star
It only works if you believe

I chip away at diamonds through the rubble and the rough

Trying to prove a point
But the points been missed
Kind of like the sports teams
I was the last picked kid
I wish I could speak in a way that's understood
And find the kind of comfort that a little girl should
