Prayer

Dear God, my heavenly Father
I'm here on my knees in my room
So much is going on in my life
While at the same time it's solitary

I'll soon leave for college and I dare not acknowledge
How unsure I am for what's next
Summer was hectic and I'd rather forget it
Those unstable feelings and unnecessary grievings

I confess I haven't reached out to you as much as I should have
It's as if an answer was right in front of my face
It amazes me how quick you are to forgive what I've done
And remember the sin no more
With such miraculous grace

So I come before you today
I praise you for every single day I get to live
I ask for guidance and I ask for strength as I face what tomorrow has to give
In the name of Jesus, Amen

Dear God, It's me again
Crying and feeling alone
My heart's been aching and my friends moved on
And I'm worried about falling out of touch

You say you won't leave me nor forsake me
I hide those words deep in my heart
I won't look at what's been and I'll see what I'm in which is love
Since the start

I'm so thankful for you
I see that you're working in my life
Though it sometimes ain't easy I still believe

I believe in your goodness and truth and faithfulness
Regardless of where I am in my life

So I come before you today
I praise you for every single day I get to live
I ask for guidance and I ask for strength as I face what tomorrow has to give
