The Ballad of Keanu Reeves

Keanu Reeves was born in Beirut in 1964
He grew up in Toronto, Canada
He is a Canadian citizen
He was not a good student

He struggled with reading
Keanu is dyslexic
He was a good hockey player and aspired to be a member of the Olympic team
He chose to be an actor

In the early 1980s, he starred in a Coca-Cola commercial
He did not age to look like Robert Urich, but Robert Urich reverse-aged to look like
Keanu
This can be seen in the wonderful world of Disney's Young Again

With all respect to the memory of Robert Urich, Spencer for Hire was a great television
show
He was in the film River's Edge, which was much like Twin Peaks, yet was not Twin Peaks
His breakthrough role came when he played Ted Theodore Logan in the cinematic masterpiece

Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure
He would reprise this role in Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey in 1991
Also that year, Keanu made My Own Private Idaho alongside his dear friend, River Phoenix
River Phoenix would pass away a few years later

All respect to the memory of River Phoenix
It does indeed belong in a museum
Keanu is also a big fan of Formula One racing
Formula One is the top tier of motorsports

It is a magnificent global competition
Keanu also hosted the documentary Brawn, The Impossible Formula One Story
In addition to being an actor, Keanu is also a musician
Keanu plays in the alternative rock band Dogstar

Their first album, Our Little Visionary, was released in 1996
And it's Keanu who plays the bass guitar
But it was also in the summer of 1991 when Keanu starred alongside Patrick Swayze in
the blockbuster of all blockbusters, Point Break

This film, as well as Terminator 2, is the sole reason why 1991 was the absolute zenith
Of filmmaking
Portraying Johnny Utah, he was the overambitious FBI agent who befriended Patrick Swayze's
Bodhi

As the film unfolds, it reveals the duality of man and poses questions of mortality
Utah is a conniving lawman
Bodhi is a noble outlaw
They surf together

They jump out of planes
Though they are friends, they are also adversaries
The game of cat and mouse escalates into the greatest chase scene ever filmed, where Swayze
Wears a tuxedo and a Ronald Reagan mask

They run through houses
They set cars on fire
One even throws a dog at the other
Though they both are spared from taking a bullet, that is out of respect

It is out of love
Utah eventually gets his man, but he lets him go
He's not coming back
It's not tragic to die doing what you love

Patrick Swayze died in 2009
All respect to the memory of Patrick Swayze
All blessings to Keanu Reeves, and 1,000 thank yous for the filmography that he has presented
To us

Keanu Reeves was a legend before you even knew who he was
He was an icon before he was even known
May we all continue to be excellent to each other
May we all continue to be excellent
