Rant
I'm so sick of this country, the government can suck me
We have to make appeals to NSFAS to get funding?
No employment, it's easier to grow blunt trees
And sell weed, you'd make at least a G in one week
Prices going up, inflation every second week
Local is R10 today, tomorrow seventeen?
They have us playing Hunger Games like we're Everdeen
And then promise to make changes that we'll never see
And success in this place is genetic, see nepotism
They make favours for their relatives
And you know it's all a joke when the president
Is only good for hiding stacks of cash under mattresses
While we spend four hours at night with no power
Taking cold showers, no signal from the phone towers
And the worst part, I couldn't even watch Lionel Messi lift it
I missed the World Cup Final
And the effects of loadshedding have watered down
To everything 'cause we don't even have water now
I can't wait for the election campaign
They'll give one tap to the poor, and that'll be accepted as change
But at least they're shifting the gears, right?
No loadshedding this weekend 'cause Christmas is here
They hand us bits and we cheer
But if we don't force change we won't see different, I swear
So buy my Xanny please, go and spike your granny's tea
When the voting starts, before she sides with ANC
Be like Tshego, I mean she gave us the blueprint
If you think that's cruel, lock 'em up in their rooms then
I have to say, we're really in a crappy state
I actually blame every politician, catch a stray
And at the rate thing are going
I'll gladly wait years 'fore I graduate
'Cause after that, I'll have to pay UCT
Born free, still financially chained
So what the fuck do you mean free?
No bursary to reduce these fees and release my degree, so retweet
Hey you, please stream
'Cause NSFAS is capping its funding for housing
Now debts will amass to, like, hundreds of thousands
It's a waste, you can't afford education
Unless you got cash in abundance, astounding
And some students have now been completely defunded
Announcement released to the public
I'm sorry, the future is bleak, I'm disgusted
The seed of corruption's too deep in this country
And the Eskom shit ain't just networks and cold baths
The consequences are grave
In fact, lemme take you to a family, the Jameses in Bromhof
You know what happened in May?
There was a little girl called Neyamiah Eaton
Who had a condition that made it difficult to breathe
And they couldn't charge her oxygen cylinders
And now her family is grieving, remember her name
And we won't vote for the DA 'cause we don't trust you
And fuck Elon Musk too
Talking 'bout white genocide, baseless agendas
My, even lie to push for Cape Independence
And the Co-Invest shit is bullshit
We wait for two weeks just to get allowances
There's no politician in sight to trust
The next one is filled with more empty promises
But I don't even watch the news, the hypocrisy
Log into X, what I'm fed, I gobble it
Jacob was beningining his speech
The last time my sights were set on politics
I'm clueless, I do acknowledge it
I don't know when I last read an article
Okay, maybe I'm ignorant, maybe I'm ignorant
I need to reflect, can you pardon me?
