Independent Musician Blues

I just wanted to make music
But it's so dang confusing
Trying to navigate through this illusion
But believe me, it ain't easy when you're aiming for inclusion
In an industry that doesn't have faith in what you're doing
So I'm doing what I can
But I'm only one man
But so far I've gained a couple fans
But believe me, it ain't easy when you're working with your hands
And there's no other musicians to start a band
So, I'm all alone far from home
It's hard to know what lies ahead on this dark road
But maybe if I start slow
Maybe I can pick up speed
When the light at the end of the tunnel starts to show
But hearts and minds are hard to find in these dark times
Living in the shadows cast by the starlight
And the cards don't show the charts, and I'm lost
But I've got my foolish dreams, a guitar, and a mic
And the independent musician blues
I got the independent musician blues
Independent musician blues
When you give it all you got, you got nothing to lose
It's the independent musician blues
Independent musician blues
I got the independent musician blues
