The Kale Song

The wind came through and knocked the fence down
Blocking the walkway to the door
So I propped it up with a couple of cinderblocks
I'm thinking this isn't my problem it's my landlords
He isn't around. Maybe I should do more. (Maybe I should do more)
As I sleep on it the wind picks back up
And knocks the fence back down
The other way. (The other way. The other way)

And in the morning, I peak out the window
Meet eyes with my neighbor and instinctively
Duck away like a goddamn criminal. (Like a goddamn criminal)
Well shit I hope he didn't see
I better take another peak
Well shit he definitely did
And I did the same incriminating thing again

Well the damage is done. I'll just go back to bed
And hope for the best. (Hope for the best. Hope for the best)
It was all on his planter box and he looked pretty pissed
But his plants were mostly dead before the fence
Put them out of their misery. (Put them out of their misery)
I probably did him a favor. (I probably did him a favor)
He'll come and thank me later, no

And then I open the door in the afternoon
The soil on my porch was fresh
And there laid a piece of uprooted kale
At first I mistook as a gift
From the wind and in a way it was
Indirectly delivered through the hands of another
Hell bent on sending a message
Godfather style yeah cuz this shit's intense
There's bodies on the ground and it's unclear
Who the killer really is. Is it me?
Or is it him?
Or is it the

Wind?
That dirty old wind
Will we ever reconcile
Or will we ignore each other till the day that we die
Or move out, whichever comes first
I wish you all the best
And I hope you get better at growing plants
