Behind the Corner

Why's it rare to hear, a word that dries another's tear?
In the rush to get ahead, we've lost gentle words unsaid
Every face tells a tale, should our compassion not prevail?
Lost in a selfish spree, where did we misplace empathy?

Life's no gentle ride, it's a battleground
Where hearts turn cold, and the wolves gather 'round
We fight our wars in the silence of dreams
Whisper echoes and nothing's as it seems.

If you come way too near
I say GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE!

If life looks like it treats you too well!
No doubt that behind the corner is waiting for hell!
And if you think that people are always goodwill.
Don't be surprised when they put your food on a poison pill!

Pixels paint our portraits (but miss the crying eyes)
Underneath the filters (the unshared sorrow lies)
We connect but don't feel (in a network so vast)
Sympathy's signal weakens (in the digital broadcast)

If you come way too near
I say GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE!

If life looks like it treats you too well!
No doubt that behind the corner is waiting for hell!
And if you think that people are always goodwill.
Don't be surprised if they force you TO SWALLOW A POISON PILL!
