Petalshed

I shed dead petals like birds
He disturbs the wire
By staring at my smile lines
Then the flight transpires
Am I wiser now?
Wasteful of welfare
As if it won't ever end
He wants to hear the prophecies
No else would let me send
Oh, noo, I think this is unstoppable
Clear, coagulatory
Impossible

My intentions are outside myself
Settle in his flowerbed
A speck of pollen
Honey bees buzz
Around my ankles
Their singing says someone's calling
Flitting through false foliage
Fields of fabric that fall from my skirt
When they see that it's just lace
This fickle sting may start to hurt
