Jerusalem Is Burning

Jerusalem is burning with the actions they have buried in the past
I don't know if this genocide will end or how long it's gonna last for
So I talk myself into a walk and then I waste another day of spring
And listen to my therapist on different ways that I should start coping

But Jerusalem is burning, I see it every day in stories on my phone
And the racism inherent in this system is a knife upon its throat
We are all complicit, I'm not saying that I'm not, I wish I weren't
But there's gotta be a reason for the children to believe in a better world

And if there is another day that I can spare a minute for a friend
Then the fight is still worth fighting and the living is still worth living till the end
Cause Jerusalem is burning, I can feel it in the change, it's in the wind
And people from all over in resounding voices scream, never again

And ghosts of fallen families take up arms and fight alongside their next of kin
To dismantle this oppression from the West and any trace of it to live
Oh, oh, oh, oh
So why scream, I can't find a reason for these chemical remains

And why scream, I can't seem to forget the images burned in my brain
Jerusalem is burning with the crimes they have committed in the past
But I know this genocide is gonna end and that the state's not gonna last long
So I talk myself into resistance as a purer form to find some joy

And I listen to my friends who are family in a strong, uplifting voice
Cause Jerusalem is burning and I'm not gonna act like it isn't now
And I see the smoke screen billowing and floating in the way of all the clouds
And if there is a heaven, then I hope we're strong enough to bring it down

And settle our communities based on love so that they'll cherish the life around
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Thanks for watching
