The Day After

Took a walk down my road
With a smoke in my hand
And I almost broke a tear
The day after is here
The day after is here
I try to write about it
But nothing comes to mind
If I could break a tear
Than the day after would be more clear
But the day after is still here
I enjoy the stillness
Of the trees that stand proudly tall
I long to sleep as soundless
As the night time and the wind
The night time and the wind
Tuck me in like the moon did the sky
And sing me a lullaby
Sing me goodnight
Tuck me in, the thoughts are rushing in
The day after is here
And the rest of my life is near
