Quench My Thirst

Words from a poet
Voice worn and low
Lost in time's ebbs and flows
Feel a weight of nostalgia
But memories won't solve my plight

Across barren lands my shadow walks
A scorching sky burns my skin up
Oppressive heat steals my breath
Saps my strength

Been lost in the desert
Take a swig from my flask of sand
Searching for something to quench my thirst
Been lost in the desert
Take a swig from my flask of sand
Searching for something to quench my thirst

Met a painter
His palette now bare
Brushes dried from the air
Once his colors danced with
hues bold and bright
But now they've faded, bleached to white

Across barren lands my shadow walks
A scorching sky burns my skin up
Oppressive heat steals my breath
Saps my strength

Been lost in this desert
Take a swig from my flask of sand
Searching for something to quench my thirst

I've been lost in this desert
Take a swig from my flask of sand
Searching for something to quench my thirst
