Flat On My Face

Floor is lava jumping couch to couch
Rollerblading all throughout the house
Nerf gun fights in the backyard
May the best man win
I owe it all to the place that I first fit in

And since I moved out
My little brother took my room
And though paint might change
All the walls won't lose what they knew

Surrounded with the people that would catch me
If I took too big a leap right off the edge
Wouldn't matter what I said
You would be there
And someday when I'm looking back on today
I'll remember I was given such a soft place
For when I fall flat on my face

Christmas tree we put up night before
Signed our names in sharpie near the door
Watch ourselves growing up through the eyes of our mom
And dad's home late from work so we'll leave the light on

Oh and since I moved out
We're watching our dogs getting old
Oh change what you need to
Cause I don't wanna see that house sold

Surrounded with the people that would catch me
If I took too big a leap right off the edge
Wouldn't matter what I said
You would be there
And someday when I'm looking back on today
I'll remember I was given such a soft place
For when I fall flat on my face
