The Plurality of Worlds

We're on a rock circling around the sun
How selfish to think this is all here for us
The suns just a star, one of billions of trillions
All that just for light so we can see at night?
No I dont think so
Existence does not exist for us
When did our shoulders evolve these chips?
Thats something I want to know

Lies are all that I can see no matter what you believe
What we've been told is that we are the reason for it all
But our reason we have lost

How have we become a people so arrogant and full of hubris
To think that we are all alone in this
Thats something I want to know before I go

This earth is not alone in the universe
Lies are all that I can see
No matter what we believe

How tragic it would be if we were all there was
A singular miracle of life solely focused on creating death
If the only "intelligent" life to exist was this
How tragic it would be
We are not alone now and we never were
And we'll be gone before they ever know we were here
A distant memory of a world consumed by fear
Will we exist long enough to finally know the truth
Or will we be the next thing extinct in this cosmic hell
