The Golden Bough

I took that bough that was golden in hue
Went to the underworld
Looking for you

Spoke to the prophets
They told me what's true
But I didn't find you
No, I didn't find you

Had to leave you behind
Had to leave me behind
To find my own mind
For you to find your own mind

When I come back
And reach unknown shores
Will found
A New City

Those lights
Look so pretty

Fled from my country
I took to strange lands
Wondered, where is my home?
What are these sands?

Will I find what it is
That I most seek

When all these days
Feel so bare
And so bleak?

I took that golden bough
And I went far
That pristine branch in my arm
Was unmarred
Their eyes, meeting mine
Saw what I held
Were alarmed

But I learned much
On these shores

Survived!
After the horse
Held the crew
Survived!
When I sailed
And I met you
The first time
Survived!
Down in this place
And emerged
So Renewed

Look at my home
Golden seeds planted deep
Those branches will keep
When asleep
In the winter
Of worlds

New trees, golden brand
And I found my own land

So give me your hand
So give me your hand
So give me your hand
