Better Dying

Fears of fading in a cul-de-sac plague me
Reverse in and out of my suburban dream
We paved the lawns with clay
I think I liked it more the other way
Better living, better dying
The Teflon starts to burn
Let's go shopping for a frying pan
That won't kill me or make me sick
The price we have to pay for a non-stick

Will I leave more behind than a dent in a cheap IKEA couch
Am I done having fun outside this LED lit house
A few minor renovations and this place will outlive all of us
Oh we put the effort in, so what's the fuss

Wage slaving in a yellow box daily
Slipping in and out of my reality
No gods, no kids, low pay
No health insurance for my tooth decay
I've been working on not working
Trying to figure out
If i have a soul worth searching
How can i find the time
When there's every Sega ROM on my hard drive

Will I leave more behind than a dent in this cheap IKEA couch
Am I done having fun outside this LED lit house
A few minor renovations and this place will outlive all of us
Oh we put the effort in, so what's the fuss
