From Their Lips

From their lips I heard a sound
One so sweet and yet so sour
Begging for help and still a warning to us
Outside so rough and inside so scared
Their memories have a hold on them, it's clear
And one so strong it's not hard to see
Signs of blasphemy from other places

They think they're so different from those under spells
They drink from the bottles but the labels are misspelt
They've taken the bread from the wrong shelf

From their lips I heard a sound
One so sweet and yet so sour
Begging for help and still a warning to us
Outside so rough and inside so scared
Their memories have a hold on them, it's clear
And one so strong it's not hard to see
Signs of blasphemy from other places

They have feelings of longing that they push down
Their hearts cry out
But still they stay here
'Cause it's all that they know

They sit together but not by choice
They simply just follow the voice
If they do much more they'll regret it
They dream of being released to heaven

From their lips I heard a sound
One so sweet and yet so sour
Begging for help and still a warning to us

Oh, from their lips I heard a sound
One so sweet and yet so sour
Begging for help and still a warning to us
Outside so rough and inside so scared
Their memories have a hold on them, it's clear
And one so strong it's not hard to see
Signs of blasphemy from other places
