it's that thing
an obsession that is born
when forbidden love and intense lust are combined
and that thing feels good
it's addictive

have you ever felt so much for a person
that the world could burn to ashes around you both
and you might not notice
or even care if you did?
'cause you're together
dizzying,
all-encompassing
(it's unhealthy!)
and ultimately unsustainable

and so we must acknowledge the differences
between love & infatuation
one is everything
and the other puts an idea on a pedestal
and crowns it 'everything'
addiction to a concept,
a rose-tinted memory,
an old, nearly-forgotten tale of romance
or was it written of death?
it was certainly painful
and sexy

now picture it:
two moths burning in the flames of a fire they started
holding each other entirely too tight,
grateful for the warmth
