Treehouse Thoughts

You're sitting
and planning with your headphones in
Tuning out the world in this perfect moment of planning
You always have a plan
Your eyes the color of the trees you love
Cheeks the spectrum of red and gold like a sunset

I've lived through thousands of sunsets
Between trees and grassy fields
On beaches, over oceans, deserts, and mountains
I'm always taken by the beauty though
The primal parts of my brain
Extending crinkled hands in the amber hues
Grateful for surviving another day

You are my sunset, my rest, the beauty that never dulls
I can soak in your presence each day
And still feel brand new

You are my full moon
I may ebb and flow with the shore
But when you're in the sky I can't help but reach toward you in flood cracked sand

Intelligence to guide with a bright unrelenting light
Amidst the faintest twinkles fighting through smog in the overwhelming artificial cities

You are my sunset, my rest, the beauty that never dulls
I can soak in your presence each day
And still feel brand new

You draw hearts when you look at our plans
I can't help but feel my chest exploding
My eyes water I can feel your love for me radiating throughout the room
Its sweet smell filling my lungs
I want more

You draw hearts when you look at our plans
I can't help but feel my chest exploding
My eyes water
I can feel your love for me radiating throughout the room
Its sweet smell filling my lungs

I want to write more
