Surviving at Sea

When I dream and I'm worn at the seam -
when I find I scream from the room that I'm locked in -
you hold me. Momentarily.
And then you help me search for the key.

I once thought
it was time I go
to find a land to call my own.

I've got nowhere to call my home -
my heart is out to sea. I know
the tides, they come, they see, they go.
For years I've ebbed, I've learned to grow.
Test me, impress me - I'd love to know all of you
and read the whole tome.
Come in, come in, the night's beckoning.
We can share the seeds I've sown.

This parity;
our verity.
An emotional heimlich personified,
you help me stay free.
When the ocean is rough and I'm cold I'm still tough enough
to find my way home
where with you I'll reside in our thrones, side-by-side,
in the house that we built for our home.

We communicate,
reflect - not ruminate,
Surviving at Sea.
I think it's fair to say
I love you more today.
