The Void

You took me by the hand
And we walked into the void
Don't know which way is right or wrong
And all I hear is noise
Ever since I've been a kid
I've had so many questions
And now I'm staring at the sky
Just looking for some reflection

I know it's gonna take some time
So wait for me at the finish line
And everyday I feel I'm falling
Further behind
Life is short but it's no race
Do your best to laugh in the face
Of things that just try to bring you down

I want to know if when we die
We look down from the heavens?
Or is that just something I believe
To make myself feel happier about the fact
You're gone, and I'm still here to go on and find a way
To live my life with the void of you missing everyday

I want to know if everything I've done can be enough?
To make you feel safe and warm
Protect you from the bullshit in this world
