The Water

The water tells the truth when it looks right back up at you
I tried so hard not to scream when I saw those crystal scenes
My shattered mirror showed so many versions of my soul
I was so shocked to see just one simple image of me

Bonfires and good liars
Only live to confuse
But I can promise that water
Always tells the truth

Ooh Ooh Ooh Ooh

The forest overgrowth took back the path that I had paved
Now I don't know where I came from or how I could get back
So any step I take is a step forward in this wild place
Sometimes in life it feels like I'm against me in the race

Tiptoes on hardwood scare me to death
The creaks in my mind inhibit my rest
So I picture floating in the ocean
I'm the last one left in motion
In the big wide open blue
I can finally hear the truth

Short glory famed stories
Only half of what happened
But they trust what they're told
When it when it was fabricated

Bonfires and good liars
Only live to confuse
But I can promise that water
Always tells the truth

Ooh Ooh Ooh Ooh
