Broken Bones - demo

Wooden slates, bricks and mortar
Over-ripe body spilling over.
Here once were times and always faces
Ghost-like, learing, transient, fading.
These scattered remains an unholy immolation.
And half standing and half in despair.
Like a dying gasp in an empty room.

Here broken, there open
All falling and twisted
The years abandoned slowly now
Leak out in a mass of coloured grey
Disappear in a fluctuant haze.
The rain can't wash away the smells
Of human lives, of torment
Or cellular fusion, the birth of children
A thousand different moments.

Now a wash of screaming incidents
Flicker on each falling raindrop.
A fluid library of scattered recollection.
And so embracing, I must leave now.
As the city expands, grasping feverishly
With metal talons.
A carcass rotting, spilling over.
