Unashamed

Through the Fire

I walked through the fire, There's unbearable pain
Scars appearing, my body scorched in vain
Satan tried to destroy me, with his fiery grasp
I could hardly breathe, the heat made me gasp

But I didn't give in, I stood strong and true
I walked through the fire,
I had to renew
My heart was assaulted, but I never gave in
I asked God for forgiveness, and He made me whole again

The warmth was intense, but it didn't consume
My life turned to ashes, but I didn't lose my youth
The demons attacked, with their tales of deceit
But I rose up, and I stood firm on my feet

But I didn't give in, I stood strong and true
I walked through the fire, I had to renew
My heart was assaulted, but I never gave in
I asked God for forgiveness, and He made me whole again

I still walk through the fire, but now not alone
I'm cooled by His spirit, my heart is His home
He is the water that quenches the flame
The heat no longer arouses, nor does my shame

But I didn't give in, I stood strong and true
I walked through the fire, I had to renew
My heart was assaulted, but I never gave in
I asked God for forgiveness, and He made me whole again

Now I walk through the fire, with a heart that's free
A life filled with love, and a soul filled with glee
From the ashes of my past, I rise up anew
With a heart that's full of hope, and a soul that's renewed.
