Bring the Wind

Books have been poured over, classes been taken Still I'm unsure of this vessel I'm making
The wood, it's been easy enough to find I've got plenty of planks in my old dines
Sanded and severed, I piece it together She's gonna sail through all kinds of weather
Speaking of sails, I couldn't do better Than the toughened up skin that I'm living in

But the sails, they have no way
I know I can't stay here, try as I may I'm watching the shore as it's drifting away
A slave to the water, it's all that I know I can find nothing new with my sails hanging low
Under the shoreline I want to keep holding Watching my sails and my purpose unfolding

All of the comfort that used to be mine In the hope of what's better, I'll leave it behind
To fill these sails of mine
Bring the wind, bring the storm Make this vessel to conform
To your will and your way And someday I'll hear you say

Well done, well done
I've heard the stories of those lost at sea But led by the wind, I am finally free
To sail along bravely, knowing that we Will go to the places alone I'd not see
What used to be stayed and now I find driven By all of the truth that my comfort had hidden

And all of the things that my flesh had forbidden Are open to me on this wide open sea
Cause now I am forgiven
Bring the wind, bring the storm Make this vessel to conform
To your will and your way And someday I'll hear you say

I'm the wind, I'm the storm Through my mercy you were formed
For my will and my way And someday you'll hear me say
Well done, well done
I'm the wind, I'm the storm
