I wrote this cause I know it's time shift
God got me accelerating
Devil want me drifting
There's some things that I could never lift
Jesus got me like a spotter
This no ego lifting
There's somethings that just no longer fit in
Nothing in my life replacing Christ
Cause good intentions
Ain't enough
Won't be a hypocrite
That's too religious
Whom shall we obey man or God
Some won't like this

Things that bring disgust

Seems obvious
But when manipulation comes
From people you thought you could trust

They call it faithfulness
Abuse and cover up
As futile as the leaves that Eve used
They dress it up
With the word of God used out of context
And its destructive
Just trust it
That's what they would say
But that's a must quit

Aiming at me like musket

So God intervened
And He bring direction

I'm under His protection

I'm recovering
And I just need the word of God
Untainted by the stuttering
Of leaders who would seek to use it
For their own gain
So I'm moving on and trust in God
For purpose in my pain
