The Stars - Acoustic

The stars are blinking tonight
It may seem beautiful to some
But I feel so scared for them
Burning bright that pulsing light
Could go out at any point
If I could I'd bottle up the brightness
And keep it longer than I should

But bottling a fire will just extinguish the flame
So am I risking everything I have for just a little taste of fame?
I look up into the sky again and the lights seem so much dimmer
Out of all the stars that are still left
I don't see any of them that shimmer

Were they already gone the first time I looked at one?
And was it just a matter of time
Or can all of us find our rhyme or reason?
A once shining bright light can go out at any point
But watching how they shake and suffer
Letting them go on feels like a crime

How do we live with ourselves when we'll probably all go to Hell?
And we know our loved ones are just waiting there?
What did they believe in do you even care?
What is God like is he fair?
What does fair mean are we aware?
Are we just savoring this life of sin
that we know we've been living in?
Because we know that when we all die
we won't be up where angels fly
So we bottle up the way our lives are now
We try to keep that flame bright safe and sound

But bottling a fire will just extinguish the flame
So am I risking everything I have for just a little taste of fame?
I look up into the sky again and the lights seem so much dimmer
Out of all the stars that are still left
I don't see any of them that shimmer

The stars are blinking tonight
It may seem beautiful to some
But I feel so scared for them
