Monument City

I can't see the boats
Anchored in the water from my window
Though I live by the harbor
I need to keep my curtains closed so stubbornly
It's only out of necessity

The migraines come on more and more frequently
And the light hurts my eyes
But oh I think I love you
Oh I know I do

If I was a bird I'd migrate North in the wintertime
Against my nature I would fly
To your bed
To your bed
To your bed

I built a monument city to rival ancient Greece
On the shores of Torrance Beach
And I sat helplessly watching it crumble
Beneath my children's feet

The migraines come on more and more frequently
And the light hurts my eyes
And even on these broken wings I'd try to fly
To the North in the wintertime
To your bed
To your bed
