Summer Dreams

Remembering when as kids, back then, just you and I
Laid in the field, on our backs, watching the summer sky
The clouds could be white as snow, or maybe pearly grey
Threatening and darkly close, yet distantly away

We could find cloud pictures, a dinosaur or bear
They would change before our eyes, dissolving into air
The scent of hay and clover, memories most serene
When you and I watched summer skies and spoke of summer dreams

We'd dream of places that we'd see, someday when we were grown
When a jet plane sliced the sky, we'd claim it as our own
We could find cloud pictures, a dinosaur or bear
They would change before our eyes, dissolving into air

The scent of hay and clover, memories most serene
When you and I watched summer skies and spoke of summer dreams
We'd dream of places that we'd see, someday when we were grown
When a jet plane sliced the sky, we'd claim it as our own

We could find cloud pictures, a dinosaur or bear
They would change before our eyes, dissolving into air
The scent of hay and clover, memories most serene
When you and I watched summer skies and spoke of summer dreams

When you and I watched summer skies and spoke of summer dreams

Remembering when as kids, back then, just you and I
Laid in the field on our backs, watching summer sky

When you and I watched summer skies and spoke of summer dreams
