Golfland Waterslides

I swam out and I fell out the sun's mouth
And it burned but I held back from the urge to decontextualize and write it off as absurd

Then I slid down and figured this is where I'd wait it out
And if you held the things that I held yeah then you'd know how it felt and why it's so hard to let go

It's hard to let it go
It's harder still to shift and tilt and spin around as you grow old

But I kept it in and hugged the ground

Then I heard it splash, break, laugh and spill like I'm the old me now

I've been experiencing difficulty distinguishing dreams from old memories held in place under the weight of everything

I had to let it go
I let it go and watched it rip and drift away as I grew old

(But) my memories they never end, they're everything
